Often it is the ‘easy part’ compared to the liability part. Many, many, many times it comes down to the amount of insurance coverage available. Many have been the times when I have had to tell a client or the family of a departed loved one, there is only so much insurance and that will be all there is to compensate you for your loss ~ even when the loss far exceeds the amount in question. In the recent past I had to counsel a family that the $200,000 in insurance was all that was going to compensate them for the premature death of their beloved departed, that the $100,000 was all there was to compensate them for their permanent and debilitating back injury, neck injury, and broken bone. It is why I rant and rave to any one who will listen ~ bump your uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage to the most you can buy. Please, please, do it now.
